Golden Omega’s novel patented purification process (Second Generation Stripping Technology)*, combined with the fact that we use only anchovy from the waters of the South Pacific Ocean in our products, allow us to offer Omega-3 concentrates with extremely low levels of heavy metals. Golden Omega’s typical values for heavy metals are orders of magnitude lower than the maximum levels set by the GOED Voluntary Monograph for these heavy metals in fish oil products, as shown in the graph below.

PERSISTENT ORGANIC POLLUTANTS

Golden Omega’s Omega-3 concentrates are extremely low in peroxide value, p-anisidine value and TOTOX,several times below the maximum values set up in the GOED Voluntary Monograph as shown in the following graph. This remarkable performance on this relevant quality aspect is the result of the combination of all our strategical advantages. These include access to high quality crude fish oil due to our strategical location, the careful way the oil is treated along the whole production process, our proprietary developments, state-of-the-art facility and novel patented processes.

In addition to these traditional oxidation parameters, following the need of the industry to have a better understanding of oxidation in fish oils, Golden Omega, internally and in cooperation with external labs, has been actively working on measuring in our Omega-3 concentrates the volatile secondary oxidation compounds, such as ethylfuran, penten-3-one, penten-3-ol, pentenal, penten-1-ol, hexenal, octenal, nonadienal and decadienal.

We have found that the levels of these compounds in Golden Omega’s concentrates are very close to the detection limits for all of them. This is an additional testimony of the high purity of Golden Omega’s Omega-3 concentrates. Please contact us for more details about this subject.
